Chattanooga, formally the Metropolis of Chattanooga, is a metropolis in and the county seat of Hamilton County, Tennessee, United States. It’s the fourth-largest metropolis in Tennessee, after Nashville, Memphis, and Knoxville, and the 166th-largest metropolis in the US.
Chattanooga is positioned in southeastern Tennessee on the Tennessee River, roughly 120 miles (190 km) northwest of Atlanta, Georgia, 112 miles (180 km) southwest of Knoxville, Tennessee, and 135 miles (217 km) southeast of Nashville, Tennessee. Town is surrounded by the Cumberland Plateau and the Appalachian Mountains.
