Eggs Benedict is a traditional breakfast or brunch dish that consists of poached eggs served on English muffins and topped with hollandaise sauce. It’s a fashionable dish all over the world and is usually served at particular events.
The origins of Eggs Benedict are unsure, however there are a number of competing tales about its creation. One story claims that the dish was created in 1894 on the Waldorf Lodge in New York Metropolis by chef Oscar Tschirky for a buyer named Lemuel Benedict. One other story claims that the dish was created in 1915 on the Delmonico’s Restaurant in New York Metropolis by chef Charles Ranhofer.
